In response to COVID-19 pandemic, Book Driver is committed to the well-being of our donors and staff. We are closely monitoring the recommendations of local government and the CDC.
We expect to be one of few businesses relatively unaffected, for now. It’s a good time to get through that book sorting project as we all engage in social isolation over the next ten days or so.
We will continue community book pickups for now, but ask that all donors practice hand-washing when packing books or moving boxes for pickup. Use only sanitized surfaces to sort books. Our drivers will also be guided to practice hand washing and sanitizing before and after handling any books or boxes. All sold books are cleaned pre-shipping. These are good practices at any time! And we’re taking this as an opportunity advertise our cleaning measures to ensure the safety of our customers.
For now we will delay any pickups to schools and organizations, most of which are on lockdown in any case.
Please delay your scheduled pickup if you have or know you have been exposed to COVID-19, have been in a large gathering in the past 30 days, or if anyone in your household has been symptomatic (shortness of breath, cough, or fever). Let’s be cautious at this time!
Sincerely,
Book Driver
